Psalm 91

Psalm 91 speaks of God's covenant protection.

Psalm 91

He who is in covenant and dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty One, whose power no foe can withstand.

I will say of You Lord, You are my Refuge, my Hope, my Protector, My God, and on You I rely and confidently trust!

You deliver me from the snare, the entanglements, and danger of the hunter who seeks to destroy me. You deliver me from pestilence, contagious disease, or anything noxious to my health and life.

Because I trust and find refuge in You, You cover me with Your wings. For Your truth and Your faithfulness are my shield, a hedge that separates me from the evil one.

I will not dread trouble, destruction, fear, or anything that seeks to destroy my life or health that stalks in darkness, nor of the arrows, the evil plots, and acts of the wicked that choose to surprise me by day.

A thousand may fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand, but it shall not come near me. It will not penetrate Your shield of protection, Your shield of truth and faithfulness to me.

I will witness the reward of the wicked, only a spectator shall I be, for I am inaccessible in the intimate place of covenant with You, the Most High.

Because I have made You my place of hope and protection, and You, the Most High my dwelling place, no evil, adversary, infliction, distress, trouble, or wickedness, nor any plague or calamity that would cause me to mourn, will come near my home or body.

You set in order and give Your angels special charge over me – to accompany, defend, and preserve me in all my ways of obedience and service to You.

They shall lift me up on their hands as I walk through life, and keep me from defeat, struggle, and even plaques.

And You have given me the power over the enemy to tread on serpents, and nothing shall by any means hurt me.

Because (your name) we are in covenant and you have set your love upon Me, I deliver you, provide a way of escape, lift you up and set you on high.

I will never forsake you, not ever, because you know My Name and trust and rely on Me.

When you call upon Me, I answer and honor you. And with long life satisfy you and show you the fullness of My salvation.
